  • Peel Regional Police laid 136 charges against 12 suspects aged 15 to 30, including six youths, on counts ranging from attempted murder to firearms and property offences.
  • The eight-month probe, Project Night Train, targeted two linked criminal networks behind 17 violent incidents across the Greater Toronto Area between May and December 2024.
  • Among the attacks were a Mississauga shooting on Oct. 15 that left a victim with a chest wound and an Oct. 22 Brampton case where a stolen vehicle was driven over a homeowner.
  • Officers recovered nearly half of the more than $2 million in stolen vehicles, jewelry and cash and seized a loaded firearm in coordinated searches across Peel, Toronto, Brampton and Shelburne.
  • One 32-year-old suspect remains at large under an active warrant while youths charged in the case are being referred to prevention and rehabilitation programs.
