Pedestrian Killed in M5 Crash Involving Two Lorries as Northbound Closes Between J13 and J14

Police are conducting a collision investigation near Michaelwood Services and appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Overview

  • Gloucestershire Police said they were called at about 11:40am to a collision involving two lorries and a pedestrian on the northbound carriageway near Michaelwood Services.
  • The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and next of kin have been informed, while both lorry drivers were assessed by paramedics and are not believed to be seriously injured.
  • The M5 northbound remains closed between junctions 13 (Stroud) and 14 (Dursley/Falfield) for investigation work, and the southbound side has reopened.
  • National Highways reports heavy delays on the A38 strategic diversion route and has advised drivers to follow signed diversions or consider alternative travel plans.
  • Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are asking witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact police, quoting incident 189 of 13 January.
