Overview

  • The pedestrian was struck while crossing Ocean Avenue at Ashton outside 24 Hour Fitness around 6:42 p.m. Sunday.
  • First responders administered CPR and other life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • A cooperating witness shared dashcam video with investigators, who were told the driver continued through the intersection in a dark-colored sedan.
  • San Francisco Fire Department notified the Medical Examiner, whose investigator arrived around 8 p.m., as SFPD took control of the scene.
  • SFPD asks anyone with information to call 415-575-4444 or text TIP411 (start messages with “SFPD”); the location is part of the city's Vision Zero High Injury Corridor, which saw another pedestrian fatality eight blocks away in August.
