Pedestrian Killed by Wrong-Way Autorickshaw in Santacruz

The 49-year-old victim, a hospital technician, was struck while crossing the road; the driver has been arrested.

Vijay Gurav, a 49-year-old hospital technician, was fatally struck by a speeding autorickshaw on Monday evening in Santacruz, Mumbai.
The autorickshaw was driving on the wrong side of the road near Santacruz railway station when it collided with Gurav as he was crossing Nehru Road.
Bystanders immediately transported Gurav to VN Desai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to severe head injuries.
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Imran Abdul Ansari, was apprehended by police and faces charges of rash driving and causing death by negligence.
Gurav, a resident of Santacruz East, was on his way to visit a relative when the accident occurred.
