Pebble Launches Index 01, a $75 Voice-Note Ring Shipping in March 2026

The stainless steel ring records only when pressed, transcribing locally on your phone for a privacy-first, open-source take on external memory.

Overview

  • Preorders are live at $75, with the price rising to $99 after the first batch ships in March 2026.
  • The single-purpose ring uses a press-and-hold button to activate its microphone, avoids always-on listening, and can store about five minutes of audio offline before syncing.
  • Recordings transfer over Bluetooth to the Pebble app on iOS or Android, where open-source speech-to-text and an on-device model transcribe and categorize notes, with data kept on the phone by default.
  • Power comes from a non-rechargeable silver-oxide hearing-aid battery rated for roughly 12–14 hours of total recording, which Pebble estimates as about two years of typical use, and the company offers a recycling program when it expires.
  • The open-source hardware and app support programmable button actions and planned MCP integrations, and the ring ships in polished silver, polished gold, or matte black in sizes 6–13 with 1-meter water resistance.
