Overview

• Season 2 of Peacemaker will stream on HBO Max beginning August 21 and comprises eight episodes written by James Gunn, who also directs three installments and executive produces alongside Peter Safran and John Cena.
• The premiere opens with a reshot “Previously in the DCU” sequence that swaps out a Justice League cameo for a Justice Gang lineup as part of a deliberate canon reset.
• The storyline sends Christopher Smith into a multiversal arc where he encounters an alternate world in which he is celebrated as a hero, heightening thematic stakes without revealing key outcomes.
• Frank Grillo returns as Rick Flag Sr. leading an A.R.G.U.S. vendetta against Peacemaker, joined by a mix of returning and new threats including Maxwell Lord, White Rabbit, Red St. Wild, Judomaster and an alternate White Dragon.
• Insiders report that Joel Kinnaman may reprise Rick Flag Jr. in both flashback and alternate-dimension appearances, and that elements of David Ayer’s 2016 Suicide Squad could be woven into the DCU continuity.
