Overview
- The PDC named eight players for Premier League Darts 2026: Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen, Michael van Gerwen, Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price and debutant Josh Rock, with van Veen also debuting.
- The season opens on 5 February in Newcastle, visits Berlin on 26 March and concludes with the top four in London on 28 May, with £350,000 to the winner that does not count toward the Order of Merit.
- Gary Anderson, a two-time Premier League champion, declined to return, citing the travel demands despite his resurgence to the world’s top six.
- Littler, 18, retained his world title with a 7–1 win over van Veen, sealing the final with a 147 checkout, and was reported as the first player to earn around £1 million from a single World Championship.
- After his triumph, Littler withdrew at short notice from ProSieben’s Promi-Darts event to rest, where Joey Kelly and record-holder van Gerwen won the title, and he is next slated to play the Bahrain Darts Masters on 15 January.
