PCH Motorcycle Fatality Becomes Fourth Roadway Death in Four Days in Ventura County, CHP Says

Investigators are seeking information as they examine separate crashes and unresolved causes across multiple sites.

Overview

  • On Monday evening, a 35-year-old Port Hueneme woman died on Pacific Coast Highway near Mugu Rock after her Harley-Davidson crossed double-yellow lines on a blind curve and hit a southbound Chevy Silverado head-on, CHP said.
  • CHP stated alcohol may have been a factor in the PCH collision and toxicology results are pending, while the truck’s driver and two passengers were uninjured.
  • Earlier Monday, a 51-year-old Santa Paula woman driving a Nissan Kicks died on Foothill Road after striking a Dodge Caravan that was slowing to make a U-turn; investigators said drugs and alcohol are not suspected.
  • On Saturday night, a 20-year-old Camarillo woman on a black Yamaha lost control on northbound Highway 101 north of SR-126, was ejected, and was subsequently struck along with her motorcycle by a Chevrolet Silverado and a Nissan Sentra; she later died at Ventura County Medical Center.
  • CHP says the PCH, Foothill Road, and Highway 101 fatalities, along with an Oct. 3 crash near Point Mugu that killed a 29-year-old Oxnard man, bring at least four roadway deaths in four days, and witnesses are asked to contact the Ventura Area Office at 805-662-2640.
