PCB Shortlists 10 Bidders for Two New PSL Teams, Sets Jan. 8 Auction

The board has guaranteed each club at least PKR 850 million per season for five years to reduce investor risk.

Overview

  • Ten of 12 initial proposers were technically qualified to advance to the live auction on January 8, 2026, at Islamabad’s Jinnah Convention Centre, the PCB said.
  • Multiple reports say the reserve annual franchise fee is around PKR 1.3 billion for each of the two new teams.
  • The PCB has confirmed it will cover any shortfall if a franchise’s central-pool share drops below PKR 850 million in any of the next five seasons.
  • Former Multan Sultans owners have submitted bid documents for a new team, while Multan’s ownership remains unresolved and the PCB may operate the side for PSL 11.
  • Winning bidders will choose a team name from a PCB shortlist of six cities: Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Sialkot.
