PCB Lifts Haider Ali Suspension, Grants BPL NOC Through January 23

The decision follows Manchester police closing their case in September for lack of evidence.

Overview

  • Haider Ali is among nine Pakistan players the PCB has cleared to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League with permission to play until January 23.
  • Manchester police ended their investigation on September 25, citing insufficient evidence to charge or arrest the cricketer.
  • Ali had been provisionally suspended during the probe and has not played competitive cricket since, despite being cleared in September.
  • The PCB also issued BPL NOCs to Muhammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahabzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, Khawaja Nafay and Ehsanaullah.
  • Umar Akmal was denied an NOC and has publicly appealed to the board, saying repeated refusals have cost him lucrative contracts.
