Overview

• On July 14 at Liverpool Crown Court, PC Cook testified that she was punched and kicked multiple times by Mohammed Fahir Amaaz and his brother as they resisted arrest at the Terminal 2 car park.
• She described approaching Amaaz following reports he had headbutted a Starbucks customer and said officers could not safely restrain him without using her Taser.
• Jurors watched body-worn camera and CCTV footage showing Amaaz falling backward under the Taser’s effect and PC Zachary Marsden delivering a kick to his head, images that have since gone viral.
• Cook recounted hospital treatment for swelling to her head and jaw pain sustained during the struggle and warned there was a risk the suspect could have seized an officer’s firearm.
