Overview
- The event runs Dec. 12–14 at the Pippen Fasseas Adoption Center in Lincoln Park, with hours to midnight Friday and 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave.
- PAWS is extending operating hours and waiving adoption fees on select dogs and cats through the weekend, with both appointments and walk-ins accepted.
- Leaders set a goal of sending home about 125 animals this weekend, and adoptions were already underway during Friday’s opening.
- City shelters are taking in roughly 50 animals per day, and PAWS regularly transfers pets from Chicago Animal Care and Control to help avert euthanasia.
- Adopters must be at least 21 with government-issued ID, verify housing permission, bring family members and current dogs for meet-and-greets, take pets home the same day, and comply with spay/neuter requirements.
