Andhra Pradesh's deputy chief minister announced the proposal on X, calling for creation of a Sanatana Dharma Parirakshana Board.
He said the body would promote intergenerational transmission of values, protect temples and sacred institutions, and raise global awareness of Hindu traditions.
Citing Tirumala’s spiritual centrality, he highlighted the Tirupati Laddu as a shared emotion and noted roughly 2.5 crore devotees visit annually.
He stated the initiative would be pursued with the consensus of all stakeholders and framed respect for Sanatani practices as non-negotiable in a secular democracy.
His comments followed an SIT report that adulterated ghee worth about ₹250.80 crore was supplied to TTD between 2019 and 2024, with investigators detailing large-scale suspect deliveries.
