Paul Flores, Convicted Killer of Kristin Smart, Stabbed in Prison for Second Time

The attack occurred in the recreation yard at Pleasant Valley State Prison, marking the second such incident in less than a year.

Paul Flores, serving a 25-year to life sentence for the murder of Kristin Smart, was stabbed by an unidentified inmate.
This is the second time Flores has been attacked in the past nine months, with the previous incident involving a slashing in the neck.
Staff at the prison intervened using only verbal commands to stop the attack, and two inmate-manufactured weapons were recovered.
Flores was treated at an outside medical facility and has returned to the prison in fair condition.
The attack is being investigated as an attempted homicide, and the assailant has been placed in restricted housing.
