Veteran shortstop Paul DeJong has agreed to a one-year contract with the Chicago White Sox, pending a physical.
DeJong replaces Tim Anderson, who declined a $14 million option for the 2024 season to become a free agent.
DeJong, who grew up in Antioch, Illinois and attended Illinois State, is returning to his home state.
DeJong spent the 2023 season with three different teams, ending with the San Francisco Giants.
The White Sox, who finished the 2023 season with a 61-101 record, are looking to bounce back in the 2024 season.
