Southern Company will donate $300,000 to the Azinger Family Compassion Center with an additional $200,000 for Stewart family programs

Overview

  • Paul Azinger, a 12-time PGA Tour winner and 1993 PGA Champion, was chosen for demonstrating the character, sportsmanship and service that defined his late friend Payne Stewart.
  • The Azinger Family Compassion Center in Manatee County, Florida, founded by Paul and his wife Toni in 2021, will receive $300,000 in sponsorship funds.
  • Southern Company has pledged a further $200,000 to the Stewart Family Foundation to support programs honoring Payne Stewart’s legacy.
  • Created in 2000 after Stewart’s 1999 plane crash, the Payne Stewart Award recognizes players’ commitment to charity alongside on-course excellence.
  • A live ceremony honoring Azinger will be held on August 19 during the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
