Overview

• A Patwari from Sudh Mahadev in Chenani tehsil, Udhampur district, was arrested by the CBI on April 26, 2025, for accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
• The complainant's online application for a Fard, a land ownership document, was arbitrarily rejected, prompting the Patwari to demand a Rs 50,000 bribe, later reduced to Rs 40,000.
