Overview

  • The expanded 50th anniversary edition arrives October 10 via Legacy Recordings in 2-LP and 2-CD formats.
  • The original album is newly remastered from the 1/4-inch master tapes and paired with outtakes and Smith’s 1975 RCA audition demos.
  • Eight previously unreleased recordings are included, among them “Snowball,” “Birdland (alternate take),” “Distant Fingers,” “The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game” and “We Three.”
  • The advance track “Snowball” is available now, featuring guitar work from longtime collaborator Lenny Kaye.
  • A world tour runs October 6 in Dublin through November 29 in Philadelphia with Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty performing Horses in full; Smith’s memoir Bread of Angels is slated for November 4 from Random House.
