In her speech, Smith praised Gladstone's performance and the film, highlighting its exploration of human weakness, greed, cowardice, and betrayal.
Smith was hospitalized in Bologna, Italy in mid-December due to a sudden illness, leading to the cancellation of a concert.
Smith has since recovered and returned to the stage, performing a handful of concerts in late December and appearing to be in good health.
