Patrushev Visits Amur Shipyard, Discusses Port and Amur Cargo Growth

The visit underscores federal attention to shipbuilding logistics at a strategic Far East yard.

  • On October 3, presidential aide and Maritime Board chair Nikolai Patrushev toured the Amur Shipbuilding Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and reviewed production plans with director Mikhail Borovskoy.
  • He held a working meeting with Khabarovsk Krai governor Dmitry Demeshin to discuss increasing river freight on the Amur and plans for regional port development.
  • The plant is building a series of multi-purpose corvettes and Karakurt-class small missile ships under Ministry of Defense contracts.
  • The yard’s Amurets dock-pontoon has been in service since June, and a large transport dock is being built to move vessels along the Amur and by sea to the Vladivostok delivery base.
  • At the delivery base, mooring trials are underway for the MPSV 06 rescue tug, a second ferry for Sakhalin Shipping is being completed, and a small missile ship is preparing for sea trials.
