Overview

  • Polk re-injured the same shoulder during the Aug. 8 preseason opener against Washington and has not practiced since.
  • A league source confirmed New England will place the 23-year-old wideout on injured reserve.
  • The 2024 second-round pick at No. 37 out of Washington logged 12 receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie.
  • The Patriots’ receiver plans now lean on Stefon Diggs and DeMario Douglas, with undrafted rookie Efton Chism III strengthening his case for a roster spot.
  • The procedure is intended to restore Polk to full health for 2026, when he will still have two years remaining on his rookie contract.
