• New England announced the practice-squad swap of rookie guards on Thursday, bringing back Jack Conley and parting with Mehki Butler.
• Conley joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May, logged 76 preseason snaps, cleared waivers at final cuts, signed to the practice squad, and was released before Labor Day prior to returning.
• The 6-foot-7, 333-pound Boston College product worked at both guard spots and right tackle in college and earned All-ACC honorable mention last season.
