Patriots' J.C. Jackson Expected to Return After Bye Week, Says Coach Belichick
Cornerback J.C. Jackson benched for non-injury related reasons, expected to rejoin Patriots for game against Giants after bye week.
- Patriots' cornerback J.C. Jackson was benched for non-injury related reasons, reportedly due to being late to the team hotel on Nov. 4.
- Despite not traveling with the team for their game against the Indianapolis Colts in Germany, Coach Belichick expects Jackson to return after the bye week for the game against the New York Giants.
- In Jackson's absence, the Patriots could turn to cornerbacks Jonathan Jones, Jack Jones, Myles Bryant, Shaun Wade and Alex Austin.
- Jackson, who turns 28 on Nov. 17, played for New England from 2018-21, and was reacquired by the team in October 2023 after a stint with the Los Angeles Chargers.
- Despite a lucrative five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Chargers in March 2022, Jackson played only five games that season due to injury. Since returning to the Patriots, he has recorded 14 tackles in five games.
