Patri, Changmai to Lead India’s 36-Player Squad for Badminton Asia U-17 & U-15 Championships in Chengdu

BAI selected the team from results at the Panchkula sub-junior ranking event this month.

Overview

  • The championships are scheduled for October 21–26, 2025, in Chengdu, China.
  • Both leaders step into U-17 after earlier U-15 titles, following Indian podium finishes in Chengdu in 2024 (gold, bronze) and 2023 (gold, silver, bronze).
  • The 36-player roster covers singles, doubles, and mixed doubles across both age groups with a blend of established juniors and fresh selections.
  • BAI Secretary General Sanjay Mishra said the lineup reflects the strength of India’s junior development program and includes several players he believes can bring home medals.
  • Multi-event entries include Sharayu Ranjane in all three U-15 categories with partners Soyara Shelar and Hemanth Sri Sammetla, while Punith S and Deepak Raj Aditi team up in U-17 mixed doubles and also feature in their respective doubles.
