Patos de Minas Man Arrested After Bedroom Camera Shows Yearlong Break-Ins Using Key That Opened Neighbor’s Door

• The 27-year-old was arrested in flagrante on Nov. 5 after footage captured him entering a 26-year-old neighbor’s apartment in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais.
• Police say he confessed to repeated thefts over nearly a year, and officers recovered underwear, cash and other items, along with a small portion of a substance described as marijuana.
• The victim had installed a bedroom camera following months of missing items and after finding a hidden recording device behind furniture in March.
• According to the Military Police, the suspect’s key opened both his unit and the victim’s; the Deam is probing whether it was the victim’s original key or a copy, and the suspect remained silent in his deposition.
• He was booked on theft and stalking, underwent a custody hearing, is held at the local prison, and Civil Police are analyzing a seized phone after a witness reported seeing pornographic content possibly involving a minor.
