Path of Exile 2 Sets December 11 Launch and Adds Shadow Class

Grinding Gear Games says the 1.0 update will finish the campaign and remake core systems so endgame progression and builds work very differently.

Overview

  • Grinding Gear Games announced at ExileCon that Path of Exile 2 will leave early access for a full 1.0 release and ship with two new playable classes.
  • The Shadow is a dagger-focused class that uses stealth, trap interactions, a shade that distracts enemies, and a new Darkness resource with ascendancies including Assassin and the new Infiltrator.
  • The Duelist brings swords and new weapon options with skills like cyclone and hemorrhage plus stances and choices to two-hand, dual-wield, or use sword-and-board.
  • A new league, Conquerors of Wraeclast, adds base-building, army recruitment, commanders and three factions that fight for control of castles that change map access and rewards.
  • The 1.0 update completes acts five and six, adds more than 25 endgame maps, trims the atlas skill tree and overhauls skill/support gems and item pools, changes that will force players to adjust long-standing builds and progression strategies.
