• Leaked patent filings dated July 14 reveal Honda is developing an entry-level electric motorcycle based on its Shine commuter platform
• The design retains the Shine’s steel spine frame and uses existing engine mounting brackets for a compact electric motor and single-speed reduction gearbox
• Two removable lithium-ion battery packs are mounted on either side of the frame with an internal channel routing airflow to cool the cells and the electronic control unit
