Pastry Company Under Investigation After Dairy Allergy Death Linked to 'Vegan' Tiramisu

The Italian Ministry of Health recalls the dessert suspected to contain milk, following the death of a 20-year-old woman with a severe dairy allergy.

Anna Bellisario, a 20-year-old Italian woman with a severe dairy allergy, died after consuming a tiramisu dessert labeled as 'vegan' at the Flower Burger restaurant in Milan, Italy.
The dessert was found to contain mascarpone, a type of soft Italian cream cheese made with milk, which triggered an anaphylactic shock leading to Bellisario's death.
The tiramisu was supplied by a local pastry company, run by a mother and daughter, which is now under investigation for manslaughter.
The pastry company, identified as Tiramisun, supplied the 'vegan' tiramisu to Flower Burger and 63 other restaurants.
Following the incident, the Italian Ministry of Health ordered a recall of the 'vegan' tiramisu, suspecting it might contain milk.
