Passport Seva 2.0 Goes Live in Dubai, Bringing Chip-Enabled E‑Passports

From October 28, all applications move online to reduce waits at BLS centres.

Overview

  • The Consulate General of India in Dubai activated the Passport Seva Programme (GPSP/PSP 2.0) for all passport services on October 28, 2025.
  • New e‑passports carry an embedded chip with digitised holder data to enable faster, more secure immigration clearance.
  • All applicants must use the new online portal at https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/gpsp/AuthNavigation/Login for applications and renewals.
  • Applicants can upload ICAO‑compliant photographs, signatures and documents online, which the consulate says will cut waiting times at BLS centres.
  • Minor corrections are processed at BLS without retyping or extra charges, though applicants must still print the form, book a BLS appointment and submit documents in person.
