Passengers Restrain Man Attempting to Open Plane Door Mid-Flight

The Canadian passenger was subdued with duct tape after assaulting a flight attendant on an American Airlines flight from Milwaukee to Dallas.

The incident occurred on November 19 aboard American Airlines Flight 1915, en route to Dallas-Fort Worth from Milwaukee.
The disruptive man, who claimed he needed to exit the plane immediately, grew increasingly agitated and attempted to rush the cabin door.
A 79-year-old flight attendant was injured while blocking the man’s access to the door, sustaining wrist and neck injuries that required hospitalization.
Three passengers intervened, restraining the man using duct tape provided by the flight crew to secure his wrists and ankles until the plane landed safely.
Upon landing, the man was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation, while the Federal Aviation Administration and FBI continue to investigate the incident.
