Passengers and Pilot Subdue Armed Teenager on Australian Plane

A 17-year-old disguised as a maintenance worker was arrested after breaching airport security and boarding a Jetstar flight with a shotgun.

The teenager entered Avalon Airport near Melbourne through a hole in a security fence, bypassing standard airport security measures.
Dressed in a high-visibility jacket and tool belt, he posed as a maintenance worker and attempted to board a Jetstar flight bound for Sydney carrying a loaded shotgun and knives.
Three passengers, including Barry Clark, and the flight's pilot restrained the teenager after he became agitated when questioned by a flight attendant.
Victoria Police commended the passengers' bravery and confirmed that no injuries occurred; the suspect was taken into custody for further investigation.
Authorities are investigating the incident, including potential security vulnerabilities at the airport, and have not yet determined the teenager's motive.
