Passenger Killed in California Highway Crash Involving Loose Horse

A 25-year-old man died after a horse smashed through a car windshield during a series of accidents on Interstate 15 in Norco.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday when a Toyota Tacoma towing a horse trailer hit a guardrail, causing the trailer to split open.
The horse ended up on the freeway and was subsequently struck by a semitractor-trailer and two Honda Accords.
The horse smashed through the windshield of the second Honda Accord, killing the 25-year-old front-seat passenger.
The driver of the Honda Accord, a 27-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the initial collision involving the Toyota Tacoma.
