Pascal Jansen Named New Head Coach of NYCFC

The experienced Dutch-British manager signs a four-year deal to lead the MLS team following Nick Cushing's dismissal.

Pascal Jansen, 51, replaces Nick Cushing as NYCFC's sixth head coach after the team's Eastern Conference semifinal loss in November.
Jansen previously managed AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, leading them to a UEFA Europa Conference League semifinal in the 2022-23 season.
Most recently, Jansen coached Hungarian club Ferencvárosi TC, guiding them to second place in the league before his contract was bought out by NYCFC's parent company, City Football Group.
NYCFC's sporting director, David Lee, praised Jansen's track record of developing young talent and his aggressive, high-pressure coaching style.
Jansen aims to rebuild the team's competitive edge after missing playoffs in 2023, following their MLS Cup win in 2021 and conference finals run in 2022.
