Partial Derailment Near Bayswater Shuts Three Perth Train Lines

Replacement buses are operating with delays expected into the evening.

Overview

  • Transperth reports two bogies came off the tracks as a train departed Bayswater at low speed around 3:30pm, with all passengers evacuated and an investigation under way.
  • Trains are cancelled on the Airport line between Perth and Redcliffe, the Ellenbrook line between Perth and Morley, and the Midland line between Perth and Bassendean, with knock-on delays on the Fremantle line.
  • Replacement buses are running: Route 902 for the Airport line from Stand 3 on Wellington Street, Route 903 for the Ellenbrook line from Stand 4, and Route 901 for the Midland line from Stand 2.
  • Partial services continue on unaffected sections, including Redcliffe to High Wycombe, Morley to Ellenbrook, and Bassendean to Midland.
  • Passengers are advised to allow extra time as buses may not align with timetables, with journey planning available via JourneyPlanner or the InfoLine at 13 62 13 (NRS 133 677).
