• Early on June 30 a section of the 170-tonne advertising structure atop the Zaha Hadid–designed Hadid Tower gave way and lodged inside the building’s exterior shell.
• Generali confirmed that no one was injured and that surrounding buildings escaped damage after crews secured the site.
• The office skyscraper, its adjacent subway station and parts of a nearby shopping center remain closed while employees have been told to work from home.
• Police and fire services have cordoned off pedestrian areas and are stabilizing the remaining roof structure to prevent further hazards.
• Investigators are examining whether broken steel tie rods or stress from the recent heat wave contributed to the collapse.
