Parliament Confirms Eight New Bills for Monsoon Session

The business bulletin confirms eight new bills, seven pending measures for debate when MPs reconvene for 21 sittings.

  • Monsoon Session will run from July 21 to August 21 with 21 sittings and a recess from August 12 to 18.
  • Eight new bills set for introduction include the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, the Geo-heritage Sites and Geo-relics (Preservation and Maintenance) Bill and the Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill.
  • Seven bills listed for consideration and passage include the Income Tax Bill, 2025; the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of Goa Bill; and key maritime laws such as the Indian Ports, Merchant Shipping and Coastal Shipping bills.
  • Legislative agenda spans tax simplification and ease of doing business, critical mineral exploration, heritage conservation and education reform through the addition of IIM Guwahati to the institute schedule.
  • Government will seek Parliament’s approval to extend President’s Rule in Manipur by six months and to secure state grant demands for 2025–26.
