Parklife Festival and Weekend Events to Bring M60 Delays and Junction Closures

National Highways alongside Transport for Greater Manchester have activated 24-hour monitoring with dedicated drop-off zones to ease motorway delays

Overview

  • Exit slip roads at junction 19 (Middleton/Heaton Park) on the M60 will close from 7 pm to 2 am on both Saturday and Sunday.
  • Motorists are warned to expect peak congestion from around 9 pm on June 14 and 15 as crowds depart the Parklife festival.
  • National Highways, Transport for Greater Manchester and Greater Manchester Police have suspended overnight roadworks and increased traffic officer patrols for the weekend.
  • Dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones off the motorway network have been established, and drivers are reminded that stopping on the motorway is illegal and dangerous.
  • Tram services will operate at higher capacity across the weekend, with Heaton Park and Bowker Vale stops predicted to be the busiest.
