Overview
- The Préfecture de police reconducted a curfew for a third consecutive night on Wednesday covering the Place de la République terre-plein and the sector around the Forum des Halles from 23:00 to 06:00.
- Authorities also issued an order banning any undeclared gatherings from 20:00 to 06:00 in multiple high-profile sectors including around the Élysée, the Assemblée nationale, the Champs-Élysées and major train stations.
- The RATP announced preemptive closures from 22:00 of République, Châtelet, Les Halles and the Châtelet–Les Halles complex with trains running without stopping and an interruption on RER B that leaves Denfert-Rochereau as the advised transfer point.
- Police and gendarmerie assets have been deployed to enforce the orders, including an aerial helicopter, and the Paris prosecutor said the curfew “has worked” after earlier nights.
- The orders apply to minors and adults but exempt residents who can prove home address, required workers, emergency services and merchants, a step that eases some daily life but raises questions about enforcement, travel disruption and civil liberties.
