Paris Police Official Detained After Incident at Metal Festival

A deputy chief of Paris's municipal police was briefly held for alleged misconduct during a festival in Noisiel, following reports of intoxication and aggression.

  • A deputy chief of the Paris municipal police was detained on Saturday during the Cernunnos Pagan Fest in Noisiel, Seine-et-Marne, after an altercation involving local police officers.
  • The officer, attending the festival in a personal capacity, reportedly became intoxicated after learning of a family bereavement and exhibited aggressive behavior toward festival attendees and security staff.
  • Local police were called to intervene, during which the Paris officer allegedly insulted and resisted them, leading to charges of voluntary violence, insult, and rebellion.
  • The individual was placed in custody but was released without charges as of Sunday, with no complaints filed by the involved parties at this stage.
  • The festival organizers described the incident as isolated and assured that the event, which attracts around 1,000 attendees daily, continued without further disruption.
