Paris 2024 Olympics Reports €76 Million Budget Surplus Ahead of Committee Dissolution

Driven by strong ticket sales, contractual settlements, investment gains—the surplus will fuel sports programs via the national Olympic endowment

Overview

  • Organizers raised the surplus from €26.8 million in December to €76 million, with final accounts set to be closed at a June 17 board meeting
  • The upward revision reflects gains from improved billetterie, supplier contract settlements and positive returns on financial placements
  • Total revenues for the Games reached €4.494 billion against €4.418 billion in expenses, marking a successful financial balance
  • Sixty percent of the surplus will go to the Paris 2024 endowment fund, 20 percent to the French National Olympic Committee and 20 percent to the International Olympic Committee
  • The Paris 2024 Organizing Committee will be formally dissolved after the June 17 meeting and a liquidator will complete remaining asset and liability closures
