- Université Paris 1 said it has identified the presumed author of recent antisemitic actions and has launched an internal disciplinary procedure with a conservatory measure in place.
- The case now goes to the competent disciplinary section after the university reported that several students were excluded from an Instagram discussion group based on supposed Zionism or presumed religion.
- An earlier incident on August 24 involved a WhatsApp poll titled “Les juifs pour ou contre ?” in a cohort group, which the university had flagged this week.
- The institution reiterated zero tolerance for antisemitic, racist or xenophobic behavior, urged restraint, and warned that online posts engage their authors and can lead to sanctions.
- The action comes as a July law requires higher‑education institutions to strengthen prevention and disciplinary tools and appoint a dedicated referent, with the Interior Ministry counting 646 antisemitic acts nationwide from January to June 2025.
