Parents Sue Delta After Vendor Allegedly Used Child’s iPad to Record Explicit Videos

Delta says discovery will probe how its policies alongside third-party oversight failed to stop explicit footage from syncing to a lost device

Overview

  • Tory and Brooke Brewer filed suit on July 16 in Charleston federal court, accusing a Unifi Aviation handler and Delta Airlines of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, harassment and sexual assault
  • Court filings allege the handler took the child’s Peppa Pig–themed iPad left on a July 19, 2023, Delta flight and used it to film pornographic videos in uniform
  • Automatic iCloud synchronization caused the explicit videos and unauthorized selfies to appear in the family’s cloud account without their knowledge
  • The suit claims the handler also accessed the Brewers’ Amazon and iTunes accounts, creating a “Gay” profile and tampering with other personal data
  • Delta maintains the accused worker was employed by Unifi Aviation rather than the airline and says both companies enforce zero tolerance for unlawful conduct as discovery moves forward
