Parents of RG Kar Rape-Murder Victim Request Deeper Investigation in Calcutta HC

The parents of a postgraduate trainee doctor allegedly raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata have moved the Calcutta High Court for a more in-depth investigation.
The victim's body was discovered on August 9 in the hospital's seminar room, with Sanjay Roy, a Kolkata Police civic volunteer, identified as the primary accused.
Two suspects, Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the hospital, and Abhijit Mondal, a former police officer, were granted bail after the CBI failed to file a charge sheet within the mandatory 90-day period.
The parents expressed dissatisfaction with the CBI's handling of the case, citing unrecorded witness statements and incomplete evidence review, including CCTV footage.
The Calcutta High Court has scheduled a hearing for Monday, December 23, and directed the CBI to be included in the petition.
