Overview

  • Riverside County prosecutors filed charges of murder with malice and a misdemeanor false report against Jake, 32, and Rebecca Haro, 41, following their Aug. 22 arrests.
  • Both parents made a brief court appearance on Aug. 26 with public defenders; the judge continued arraignments to Sept. 4 and set bail at $1 million each.
  • San Bernardino County investigators say the reported Yucaipa parking-lot kidnapping did not occur and believe 7-month-old Emmanuel is deceased, though his body has not been found.
  • Search efforts have included scent-tracking and cadaver dogs, search warrants at the Haro home, seizure of the father’s vehicle, and a field search in Moreno Valley where the father was present; no remains were located.
  • Court and agency records show a 2-year-old was removed from the Haro home by child protective services, and Jake Haro has a 2023 conviction for willful child cruelty involving another infant.
