'We Will Dance Again' features survivor accounts and exclusive footage from the Nova Music Festival massacre.

A new documentary titled "We Will Dance Again" is set to premiere on Paramount+ this fall, focusing on the devastating terrorist attack that occurred on October 7, 2023, at a music festival in Israel. This attack, carried out by Hamas militants, resulted in the deaths of over 400 individuals and the abduction of dozens more, marking it as one of the deadliest days in Israel's history.

The film, produced by See It Now Studios, aims to recount the harrowing events of that day through the eyes of more than a dozen survivors. Many of these individuals recorded their experiences as the attack unfolded, providing a unique and personal perspective on the tragedy. The documentary will also include footage captured by both the victims and the attackers, offering a comprehensive view of the chaos and horror that ensued during the festival, which was intended to be a celebration of music and community.

Susan Zirinsky, president of See It Now Studios, emphasized the profound human cost of the attack and the ongoing conflict in Gaza, stating, "We can’t tell everyone’s story. This film is about innocent young people, forced to fight for their survival. It is a painful story of unfathomable tragedy, and also of bravery, sacrifice, and heroism." The documentary seeks to highlight not only the tragedy but also the resilience of those who survived.

The Nova Music Festival, which took place near the Gaza border, was attended by thousands of young people celebrating the end of a Jewish holiday. The surprise assault by Hamas militants transformed what was meant to be a joyous occasion into a scene of horror, as gunfire and chaos erupted. This attack was part of a larger coordinated offensive by Hamas, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 Israelis and the taking of over 250 hostages, many of whom remain unaccounted for.

In the aftermath of the attack, Israel launched a significant military response in Gaza, which has led to a staggering death toll of over 35,000 Palestinians, according to health authorities in the region. This ongoing conflict has created a dire humanitarian crisis, with widespread destruction of infrastructure and a significant portion of the population facing starvation. The war has sparked international protests and calls for a ceasefire, reflecting the deep divisions and emotions surrounding the conflict.

Director Yariv Mozer, who has previously worked on notable documentaries, expressed the weight of the responsibility he feels in telling this story. "I have seen things in my life. I have lived through wars. I have fought in wars, and I have even filmed during a war. But nothing prepared me for the harsh images I have seen in the remains of the massacre that took place at the Nova Music Festival," he stated. Mozer aims to bring the testimonies of survivors to a global audience, highlighting their experiences and the broader implications of the violence.

The documentary is not only a recounting of a tragic event but also a reflection on the ongoing conflict that has shaped the lives of countless individuals in the region. As the world continues to grapple with the consequences of the October 7 attack and its aftermath, "We Will Dance Again" seeks to provide a poignant reminder of the human stories behind the headlines, emphasizing the need for understanding and compassion in the face of such profound loss. Scheduled for release in conjunction with the first anniversary of the attack, the documentary is expected to resonate with audiences worldwide, shedding light on a conflict that has persisted for decades and continues to evoke strong emotions and differing perspectives.
