Paramount Shifts The Running Man to November 14 to Expand IMAX Access

Paramount moved the release back one week to boost IMAX availability.

Overview

  • The studio officially delayed the U.S. theatrical debut from November 7 to November 14, repositioning its fall release slate.
  • By shifting a week later, The Running Man now avoids opening opposite Predator: Badlands and gains additional premium-format screens.
  • The new date places Edgar Wright’s adaptation in competition with Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, Eternity, Keeper and Trap House, while preceding Wicked: For Good.
  • Directed by Edgar Wright and co-written with Michael Bacall, the film stars Glen Powell, Josh Brolin and a supporting ensemble in a darker, more faithful take on Stephen King’s 1982 novel.
  • After wrapping principal photography in March, the project is in post-production with marketing under way following a CinemaCon footage preview and July trailer release.
