Overview

  • Paramount+ has taken down every South Park episode domestically and internationally after its streaming rights window lapsed.
  • Select specials—including South Park: Post-COVID, The Streaming Wars, The End of Obesity and Joining the Panderverse—and the first feature film remain available on the service.
  • Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have labeled the Paramount-Skydance merger a “shitshow” and demanded that incoming executives cease interfering in contract talks.
  • The proposed $8 billion merger with Skydance, which would install Jeff Shell as Paramount’s president, is still pending FCC approval and has stalled licensing discussions.
  • Season 27’s premiere has been pushed from July 9 to July 23, contingent on a resolution to the ongoing streaming rights dispute.
