Paramount Domestic Distribution Chief Chris Aronson to Leave Dec. 1

The veteran executive departs during Skydance's reorganization of Paramount's film group.

Overview

  • Aronson will remain through his departure to oversee this week’s release of Roofman and Edgar Wright’s The Running Man on Nov. 14.
  • No immediate successor has been identified, with trade reports indicating there are no internal candidates ready to backfill the role.
  • The move follows recent leadership changes that include Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg taking over as co-chiefs of the motion picture group and Josh Goldstine replacing Marc Weinstock in marketing.
  • During his six-year tenure, he guided Paramount’s domestic rollouts of Top Gun: Maverick, the Sonic franchise, Smile, and recent Mission: Impossible titles.
  • Under Skydance ownership, Paramount has signaled plans to increase its annual theatrical output toward roughly 15 releases and eventually about 20.
