Paramount+ Cancels Multiple Shows, Removes Them from Platform

Paramount+ cancelled four original shows and will remove them from the streaming service, hoping for a tax break.
The cancelled shows are Star Trek: Prodigy, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Queen of the Universe, and The Game.
Although Star Trek: Prodigy had already been renewed for a second season, it will now finish production but seek a new platform for release.
The removals come as Paramount+ prepares to merge with Showtime and raise subscription prices, despite having less available content.
The move follows similar actions by other streamers like Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max, fueling debate over media preservation and compensation.
