Paramount+ Buys U.S. Rights to Three A24 British Series

Overview

• A deal announced Sept. 29 gives Paramount+ U.S. streaming rights to three upcoming A24-produced British series and selected additional regional rights.
• It Gets Worse is created by and stars Leo Reich and will stream on Paramount+ in early November with Emily Fairn, Olive Gray, Sean Delaney and guest appearances from Lena Dunham and Andrew Scott.
• Major Players is co-written by Molly Manning Walker and Yasmin Joseph and follows two girls who start a women’s soccer team as they move toward adulthood.
• The Ministry of Time is adapted by Alice Birch from Kaliane Bradley’s novel and centers on civil servant Sophy helping a time traveller adjust to the modern world with Aoife Hinds and Billy Howle among the cast.
• Paramount+ says the package will boost its reputation for inventive, independent storytelling and give U.S. subscribers earlier access to A24 talent as the streamer broadens its originals lineup.
